Kainai Plants
This site weaves these strong threads of connection. A web of children, elders, plants, landscape and the stories that bind them together. These stories provide a path for our children to the future. A path that remembers and in the remembering, renews.
Honoring Our Ancestors Knowledge
Saokio Heritage is a community-based organization led by Indigenous women that works to revitalize traditional ecological knowledge and Indigenous languages in a modern context. The Blackfeet (Amskapi Piikani) once called themselves the Saokio-tapi or the prairie people. (Saokio is pronounced like Tokyo.)
We are The Narwhal
The storytellers in any society hold tremendous power. At The Narwhal, we recognize that this power represents both a privilege and a responsibility and we aim to use this power for the public good. To that end, we must recognize the inequities in Canadian media and in Canadian society at large.
BUILDING WELLNESS THROUGH TRADITION
Indigikitchen was formed to foster an appreciation and love of traditional Native foods. Along the way, we've branched out to supporting Native producers, building Indigenous gardens, and teaching some of the important background surrounding the colonization of our foodways.

OUR ENVIRONMENTAL PRIORITIES
Sustainable societies must ultimately balance the impact of human activity with the quality of ecosystems that support life. Albertans have told us what is important to them, so we gear our programs to support and strengthen the environmental nonprofit community in Alberta working on issues related to water, land use and climate change.
